Ford Details Their Suspension Testing

When the government expenditures in England is increased to fix the country’s potholes, Ford want to prove that they will still tests their cars for the ability to withstand the big pavement gaps. Ford said that their cars is going through thousands of miles of tests in order to make sure that they won’t sustain damage when it is presented to an uneven surfaces.

The Lommel Proving Ground in Belgium will be the place to include an inch by inch recreation from the notoriously porous road in England. Ford Dunton Proving Ground in Essex will provide a more abusive road surfaces for simulation. Ford claims that between that two facilities, they are testing every wheel and tire combination sold on the entire European vehicle portfolio.

Actually, Ford is spending a huge budget for this sort of testing. Each test car will be strapped with around $ 2.5 million money for electronic gadgetry which is designed to register and record the effect of the strike on each pothole. Ford is using the data to improve their current suspension systems and design a new one if the old model was failed, and then going to a further refining at Lommel and Dunton.

Lincoln MKZ Hybrid Sales is Above Ford’s Expectation

Lincoln MKZ Hybrid Sales is Above Ford's Expectation

The picture that you see above is the 2011 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid, which is only a little upgrade from the Ford Fusion Hybrid. So, it is not surprising if this lincoln is able to reach the same 41 miles per gallon in the city and 36 mpg for highway rating. Actually, the shocking thing is when Lincoln announce that this MKZ Hybrid will has a price tag of $ 35,180 including the destination and delivery, which is the same with the gas-only front wheel drive model with 3.5 liter V6 engine.

Maybe that is why the people love to buy this MKZ Hybrid at a rate that is not even predicted by Ford. Initially, Ford only targeted that the hybrid version will only contributed 15 percent of the total MKZ sales. But the truth is that the MKZ Hybrid rate is now in an average 22 and 23 percent starting from January 2011.

Ford said that the March’s sales looks similar, but in the end of February, Lincoln already sold a total of 3,343 MKZ sedans, including the 762 units of hybrids. While it has no special price tag and considering that the gas prices is getting higher, I don’t think it is surprising if the sales rate of the MKZ Hybrid is pretty well.

Camaro ZL1 Spotted by Motor Trend

Camaro ZL1 Spotted by Motor Trend

Chevrolet has now called the friend of Ford Mustang, the Boss 302 and Shelby GT500, to take the supercharger increased by one stake. The picture above is the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro Zl1, which is planned to silence all the critics for the Camaro because of being slower than the other 5.0 liter competitor from Ford.

To answer those criticism for the lack of horsepower envy, now Chevrolet is using a supercharged 6.2 liter LSA engine in order to produce more than 550 horsepower between the Camaro’s fenders. By that power, the car will be able to even beat the mighty GT500 in the straight line.

After they are able to beat the GT500, they are now aiming to beat the handling oriented Boss 302. To make sure this brand new Camaro is able to do that, they have added some magnetic dampers which you can found in the Corvette ZR1 to this Camaro ZL1. Those results in not only the fastest Camaro ever, but also the best handling. I can’t hardly wait to see when the car is running beside the two competitors and see the result of the upgrade.

Porsche Working on Panamera Turbo S

There is a report that Porsche is currently working on their new range topping Turbo S from the four door Panamera. From the picture above, that Turbo S version looks very similar to the 911 and Cayenne. You can expect a power boost for the car is on the pipeline, alongside with the tweaked design elements and some standard equipment as an addition.

Autoblog.it is reporting that the Panamera Turbo S is planned to bring a power of around 550 horsepower. It is 50 hp more than the base version. They also boost the torque output from 516 pound feet or 468 with the Sport Chrono Turbo pack, now become 590 pound feet. That will allow the Panamera Turbo S to sprint from 0 to 62 mph in only 3.8 seconds.

The rumor said that Porsche will likely do the debut for this Panamera Turbo S next April on either New York Auto Show and Shanghai Motor Show. For the pricing, by seeing the previous event on 911 Turbo S compared to the 911 Turbo, it seems that the Panamera Turbo S price would be somewhere around $ 160,000 if we are seeing the price of the basic version.
