She turned heads with her acting skills in Bright Star and has just finished shooting Madonna’s eagerly-anticipated new movie W.E. – but Australian actress Abbie Cornish has been drawing attention to herself for quite different reasons in her latest magazine spread.
The 28-year-old darling of independent cinema has unleashed her inner Hollywood glamourpuss for a scantily-clad shoot for men’s magazine GQ ahead of her turn in the big-budget fantasy action movie Sucker Punch.
The star also revealed in the accompanying interview that she’d unleashed a hitherto hidden side of herself while preparing for the role of Sweet Pea.
Not at all pasty: Abbie Cornish certainly proves she’s a bright star in the current issue of GQ magazine
She said: ‘I’m a vegetarian—I’m not the type to want to go shoot a gun. Then I actually got to the range and totally fell in love with an M4. It was kind of amazing.’
In Sucker Punch, she plays a young girl institutionalized in a mental facility by her wicked stepfather.
She co-stars along with Vanessa Hudgens, Mad Men star John Hamm and Emily Browning - and the alternate reality created by her current photoshoot will certainly be pleasing a lot of her male fans…
Abbie certainly needs to be fit at the moment – she is also currently doing the promotional rounds for new movie Limitless which premiered in Los Angeles last week.
A thriller, she stars in it alongside The Hangover’s Bradley Cooper, Anna Friel and screen legend Robert De Niro.
