Mitsubishi Turns Lancer Evolution to a different direction

The current generation of Mitsubishi’s Lancer Evolution as a high performance sedan seems like coming to an end after the automaker wants to refashion itself into a leader in electrified vehicle. Mitsubishi is turning to a different direction for this all wheel drive sport sedan as they are preparing to launch the all new eight electric and plug in hybrid in 2015.

This plan is chosen as a part to adapting with the need of a tougher global fuel economy and emissions regulations. It means that a performance car like this Lancer Evolution won’t have any place in the future, said analysts. Mitsubishi said in a statement that they will continue selling the Evolution X through 2013, but for the successor, their engineering package and architecture will be dictated by the regulations and market feedback.

They also said that it is the market’s needs and demands of change that caused Mitsubishi to not continue improving the Lancer Evolution concept just like they do before. They will find their different direction for Lancer Evolution to evolve, and it will involve some technologies. Actually, Mitsubishi has managed Lancer Evolution sedan to be the highest performing model in the market.

Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Will be Delayed

Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Will be Delayed

The delivery of most initial Hyundai Sonata Hybrids to the dealerships seems to be delayed until at least late March. Hyundai want to change the car’s device which caused some engine noise at low speeds. Actually, Hyundai planned to bring the car in January. Unfortunately, there are only a few vehicles in the dealer’s stock, according to Hyundai Spokesman, Jim Trainor.

Trainor was refused to tell on how many units of Sonata Hybrid which has landed in the United States, but he said that about 700 units were ready at the port or sea. He also said that dealers may expect the cars to come to them before becoming more widely available at late March or early April. The cause of the delay was starting from Hyundai’s decision last year to change their ‘virtual engine sound system.’

What is it? That system will sounds like an idling gasoline engine when the car is moving at low speeds. It is used to alert the nearby pedestrian with the car’s presence. They are afraid if the pedestrian can’t hear the sound of the hybrid’s vehicle which is nearly silent when they are at low speeds. It caused the U.S. lawmakers to requiring the automakers to install a sound emitting device.

JTGrey and Lexus Ready for SCORE 2011

JTGrey and Lexus Ready for SCORE 2011

Lexus had a good season at SCORE off road racing series last year. Joe Bacall with his JTGrey team who are using the LX550 is able to finished first in the stock class championship because they had won at a number of races including the series at Laughlin Dessert Challenge, Terrible Las Vegas Prim 300, and also the infamous Baja 1000.

Now, this team is back and ready, hoping that they will be able to repeat their success in the last season. Actually, Bacall said in a press statement recently that they are already prepared for the new challenges that this season might bring. He also promised to race harder and faster with his Lexus this year and have some good finishes with the LX570.

Bacall will be driving the refreshed version of JTGrey truck this year, and to be honest, that was a serious racing truck. It has some good stuff in it such as the 37 inch BF Goodrich Baja TA project race tires, Sparco race seats, a lot of KC Hilites High Intensity Discharge lights, and the custom King Racing Shocks.

The Fastest Dodge Caravan on Sale

The Fastest Dodge Caravan on Sale

Doesn’t the title clear enough? Yes it is true, the fastest Dodge Caravan in the world is being hawked and focusing to the other projects. The seller has set a high price of $ 6,500, which is reasonable for this rolling novelty. This van was created in 1989 to bring the Jonese to Walmart and attending soccer practice. The current owner is Ryan, and when he got hold this car, though, the m.o. Has been changed pretty dramatically.

The engine and transmission of this minivan were treated very well thorough its performance rebuilds, and its four cylinder engine from Chrysler has got some another speed addition with a turbo in it. Now, all those work had turned into a Dodge Caravan which is look like an original stock product, but actually as good as 11.5 seconds in the quarter mile at 115 mph if you believe it.

If you are not understand it yet, that speed is awesomely fast, not only for a van, but also for any car in the world. That less than 12 seconds are just as quick as Corvette Z06 if you want a comparison to give you a brighter view for it. If you don’t believe it, see it for yourself here.

Chrysler is recently announced that their 2011 model of Dodge Grand Caravan will get lob $ 1,000 off from its base MSRP. This condition allows the Grand Caravan to be the least expensive minivan in the United States. This price drop applies for the basic Express model which now has the lower price of $ 23,995, added with another $ 835 for the destination charge.

For the little bit higher grade Model of this car, it will also has some benefits from this cost savings, allowing the car to drop its price for $ 250 from the base price. Now, this mid range minivan has $ 25,745 price tags. For your information, both of the Dodge Grand Caravan and the Chrysler Town & Country will be refreshed for the next year’s model.

Besides the higher quality for the new version, there will also be a more comfortable interior. Both of the cars will now use the 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 engine from the automaker which is able to bring 283 horsepower with 260 pound feet of torque. Actually, we are unsure that the Grand Caravan will be the best player for this segment, but with their new price tags, I think it will attract more prospective buyers.
